ESPN News had a note on their lower right corner last night saying HD version was launching Sunday, I believe.

it is especially bad for the Cricket Ticket matches. often they do not hit the epg until a day before the match. I typically have to call D* to find out which channel and time the match will be shown and manually program by time and channel.

Are the locals delivered via 72.5 CONUS or spot beam? If they are spot beamed, Busterw might have some issues getting locals.

I had heard some time ago that the plan was to migrate all the Chinese channels to the 95W sat exclusively. I know many Chinese channels are located there, but had not heard anything about a timetable. I do not subscribe to these, so I would not have been targeted for communication on this...

I have a new HR20-100 series, so don't have DOD at this point. Does the connection have to go through the ethernet port or could I just get a wireless USB WiFi plug? I already have a LinkSys WiFi in place.

SD's for many of the larger cities have a CONUS coverage. THe HD LiL are pretty much all on spot beams from 99 and 103, which, as I understand things, do not cover huge areas beyong the individual US DMA's. My guess is that you are not in that beam.

Are you sure you peaked on the 72.5? Just a far out possibility that you found 101 or 119 by mistake and peaked there? When I had one of the first 95W 1m dishes my installers had done, they kept acquiring signals from adjacent sats and needed to get a higher end signal meter to do the job right.

The 95W sat delivers the signal in a different format than the other D* sats. It uses traditional sat polarity (horizontal and vertical) rather than DSS polarity (spiral). The LNB on a 95W dish is thus different to receive and decode this different signal. Note 95W dish is bigger than normal...

Thanks. When I signed up for the CWC a couple months ago, the rep was not aware of Cricket Plus being available a la carte.

The PQ really depends on the feed Setanta receives. Some are quite good, such as rugby matches from New Zealand. Other feeds can look a bit grainy. Occasionally there are 16:9 feeds compressed into the 4:3 screen.

Do you have a link to that PDF? I did a search on the D* website and could not find it.

I came home and watched the end of the Zimbabwe-Ireland match. It appeared to be a 16:9 telecast compressed into a 4:3 setup, making the people look taller and skinnier. Beyond that, in terms of picture clarity, I have not had problems. If you are having screen refresh issues with the picture...
