There is a new update in the app store today. I deleted the old app, re-downloaded the app, and it appears to be working again. It is amazing to me that Dish puts out this much software that obviously wan’t tested.

Finally got my Hopper3 updated. So far nothing fixed that I can tell, but nothing broken either. Will monitor. No improvement in Joey3 problem where video skips forward after pausing. Was hoping that would be fixed.

Searched the forum but could not find anything about this. I am logged into dish anywhere, viewing the guide for sports. Click on a program at 3pm, click record, this episode only. Getting a message “failure to create timer”. Any advice on how to fix this remotely? thanks in advance

Hello, can you please clarify - is this setting on the Dish box or somewhere on the TV? I looked on the Joey 4K and found a setting for CeC on the Remote tab of the settings but it didn’t eliminate my error 890.

I haven’t had time to call yet but will in a week or so. Thanks for sharing your experience with this.

On mine the sound comes back after about 2 minutes of displaying the 890 error. But the error continues to be displayed continuously with no picture after 10 minutes when I give up. I tried the “channel up” and back trick too.

Thanks for the continued ideas. Earlier today I did try that also. I have 2 RG/6 coax going to that area, one for the dish and one for OTA. I re-wired the OTA coax into the dish connection to test that wire. Unfortunately that didn’t fix the problem either. Still haven’t figured it out….

Good thought. I’ve tried 2 different cables so far, directly from the Joey4 into multiple HDMI ports on the TV. I did see one more in my cable dumpster this afternoon, and I will definitely give that one a try.

I did some more testing today. I brought the Joey 4K downstairs to our Sony 4K TV. Patched the wiring in, changing in the basement so the wiring from the relocated Joey4K went to the proper spot on the splitter in the basement. No problems at all on the Sony 4K TV. Not one burp. Moved back...

I finally got my Hopper 3 working by doing a partial reset (keep DVR and timers, download fresh software and go through setup) but my Joey3 still won't work. I rebooted the Joey3 several times but no improvement. When I have time I will message Dish about it because it's very frustrating.

Not working on my Joey3 attached to Hopper 3. Using voice button it won't come up at all. If I go in through the Apps icon in settings, I get a line of 7 animated square boxes going across the screen. Been this way for 5 minutes. Very frustrating since sports are actually restarting!

We also switched from Verizon to T-Mobile about 8 months ago. Verizon would not sell us an unlimited 55+ plan, T-Mobile has several 55+ plans. We’re saving $100 a month, yes $1,200 a year, and coverage has been great. Of course coverage depends on where you live.
