This from 2016 On the Hopper 3 there is no option to resume if a recording is still in progress. If the recording is completed you can resume but if the recording is still in progress no resume option is available. So if you start watching a program that is still recording and go watch...

Did a little reasearch. This issue also occured in March of 2019, but was resolved in a very short period of time. I have a Hopper3. Software version U939 12/11/2020. Boot strap 1014. Application Software AN459a. None of the afore mentioned work arounds work for me.

On 12/11 the software was updated at 3:38 AM. It is update U939. I rebooted the Hopper and guess what? The pause feature is back during live recordings! Glad that's fixed.

There has always been a resume button for me during multiple recordings. It's gone and so am I when my contract is up in the fall.

Maybe you do not record multiple sports programs at the same time. If you did you would understand what the original poster and I are talking about. After a program has fully recorded then and only then is the resume button available.

I have the same setup. If I am recording multiple football games and I want to come back and resume what I was watching from that same point in one of those games I can no longer do so because the resume option is gone. I believe that is what the original poster was talking about.

You stated the watch live option resumes. It does not resume.

That's not true. The pause option is gone and the watch live option does not serve as the pause button. I have complained to Dish, but their reps do not care.
