Where is the best place to look for wild feeds?

IA-6 is my favorite. I've scanned during the day that thing lights up like a christmas tree. Nice to watch the video feed from the LA news choppers.

    Aircraft/ATC comms via Satellites

Hi, I do listen to aircraft on the normal airband (118-136 MHz) with my scanner. It appears in Australia you can pick up any airport (even ones far away) since they simulcast their signals to a satellite. Here you can listen to his feed with Winamp http://audio.liveatc.net:8012/au_sat.m3u...

    Aircraft/ATC comms via Satellites

I understand this is possible down in Australia according to this site. http://www.satdirectory.com/--atcviasat.html He is able to pick up all the ATIS, Airport, and even HF frequencies right from the Optus B1 satellite. Very cool!!! Now the big question is do any North American satellites...

    My FIOS Internet/Phone Install

It might be a hassle, but FIOS is definitely worth it. 15/2 here... I'll never go back to Mediacom (yuck yuck yuck)! Can't wait for FIOS TV so I can dump Dish. Hopefully it's here soon.

    b|ind Scaning

I concur with Iceberg. I purchased a Coolsat 5000, and his review pushed me in that decision. What a great investment. I enjoy scanning for feeds and it really does a good job. The blindscan feature is great and is much faster than on my Fortec Lifetime Ultra. I also like the ability to do a...

    Whos got a Slingbox?

How good is the video when viewed remotely? I've never been a fan of "Internet video" as it always looks very poor. Can the Slingbox be customized to provide quality video streams? I've considered getting one of these. My Internet connection is 15Mbit(down)/2Mbit(up) with Verizon FiOS, so I...

Want to hear what a ham satellite sounds like?

    UHF/Satellite antenna?

Here is an interesting site http://www.uhf-satcom.com You can probably make a customized antenna for UHF satellite reception. Most of the UHF SatCom downlinks are in the 243-263 MHz range. Unfortunately most traffic is encrypted but occasionally you can catch some clear stuff. Sometimes...

    Fortec Classic NA Scans

I've noticed that too. I believe those are data TP's (such as the Internet) which is why they don't show up as any channels?

    dented dish!

My dish got slightly warped when it was shipped. I was able to fix it by putting it on the ground and pushing it back into place. It's worked fine ever since.

    85W - AMC2 or AMC16?

Lyngsat shows two satellites at this position and shows no data. Are these satellites being used or are they retired? What puzzles me is that I scanned this satellite and a channel comes up saying it's AMC9 even though I sucessfully monitor AMC9 at a 83W. When I manually put this TP under the...

    ABC News Now

Ahh so it wasn't just me then? I used to have it pixelate all the time on my Fortec like the signal was bad, even though its over 90%. But on my Twinhan card it has always worked without any issue. Nice to see it working on both!

    Alaskan stations scrambled

That is really too bad Alaska is off the air. I'd love to be able to watch programs I missed. Being on the west coast Alaska and Hawaii are about the only options to do that. No Hawaii on FTA is there? I've never seen any except for KGMB wild feeds. Really a bummer!

    WTF is this goons crap

I was also wondering what happened. I thought my computer got infected with spyware or something. I typed in g00ns forum into Google and it looks like they have attacked a lot of sites. I hope they get caught and arrested. People like that are truely scum!

Is there anything beyond or between cband and kuband?

There is also S-Band which is in the 2GHz range. I belive it's mainly used for communications such as the space shuttle and for space craft. I've listened to SatCom downlinks in the 260 MHz Range. A while back I heard a weather report being given to C-130 aircraft on their way to McMurdo...

I just tried it here and no success either. It was working fine a few days ago last time I checked. Perhaps they are offline or moved to another TP or sat?

    Fta

It's probably an illegally flashed receiver but the bigger problem is that is was sent via spam. Never support spammers aka scammers by purchasing their products from unsolicited emails.

    US Based Lyngsat?

There is a site called SatcoDX which seems pretty good. Can't post URL but do a search in Google it comes right up. You can also import the channel/transponders right into gTools and upload it to your unit.
