I think something is wrong with your Hopper. You mentioned earlier it can take 10 hours to do the 1am update ... It shouldn't take longer than 15 minutes, ever. I have had two Hoppers for 9 months... No 1am update has taken close to am hour, let alone 10.

I think they also like the fresh restart daily just to clear any strange issues. All my recordings for the next day all had conflicts which shouldn't have, the 1am restart cleared it out. And yes, it checks for updates at that time too... But there aren't always updates.

Mine does whatever it feels like doing. Sometimes I choose all my channels, and it goes back to previous customize list when I pull up the guide again. Sometimes it doesn't.

Almost grabbed a 3tb western digital at staples today for $150 then remember people saying about 2tb.

Disappointed they want $4 a month. Haven't tried my Revue with Dish for that reason.

They are $50 new now. Dish has been selling them for $30 for awhile. No monthly fee, no brainer.
