Well mine are IR/UHF 21.1 so .will they work UHF or only IR? Even in same room I have dvr behind a door so need UHF plus of course need uhf for remote tvs. Will the 40 remotes for Joeys be IR/UHF or only IR?

Not the issue. I already took care of the sleep problem a long time ago when I first bought the disk drive. It worked fine for a year. This problem is different in that it actually disconnects me.

After 1 year I am now getting errors when I go to transfer to my Seagate EHD. It starts transferring, gives error message, disconnects HD even though it is still connected and then says there is no hard drive connected. Anybody else having this problem? Cause?

Not sure the point of this response. The original point was that dish network remotes are designed to operate different boxes. This one is not since it appears it cannot be set up to only operate the DTVPAL. The other posts have been helpful in understanding the issue. Just trying to figure...

Well after 6 tries I finally got a hold of someone at dish who said this is a known problem. They said that I should have been told this. They said they would look into it some more

Looks like the DTVPAL remote also will control my 508. I tried changing the remote address of the 508 to "4" but it still controls it. I understood that DTVPAL was on "1". Does anybody know what the story is and how to get the DTVPAL not to control the 508?

DVR Conversion As I am reading this you can take a 211 add a HD to it and have the equivalent of a HD DVR. Any idea on pricing for this capability. If there is no DVR charge then I would trade my 501 in and hook it up to a new HD TV with only the $5-6 lease fee and no DVR fee.
