I remember the debt was spun off onto DIRECTV ( ATT) then they sold their majority 70% control to TPG for like $7 billion. ATT lost like $30 billion from the $57 billion they paid for Directv back when they first bought it in 2015. Also TPG then gave DISH the $2 billion it needs to pay off...

If his wireless venture is successful, why would he want it? It would be like Henry Ford buying a buggy maker.

And as those older folks die off, so will traditional pay TV.

I would bet that years from now when it's all sorted Charlie will own it all.

DTV's APP and the other live TV streaming services do have a guide. You can't just go to the individual channel on the guide.

Soooo ... you use the guide . I use the guide as well, but if I know what I want to watch, i'll use the numbers and go to it quicker that way. With Streaming not having a Guide, it makes it ... well. inconvenient.

Sounds like a lot of DISH's debt. IF Echostar is still owning and running the satellites that used to part of DISH's service, then they are also the ones that uplink the channels for the DISH service and the local channels too. If Echostar is also providing the receivers and I bet the lnbs...

So Echostar is being paid to use the satellites by the new TPG company then ? TPG would be leasing their satellites for the DISH service right? Unless they are getting a percentage of the revenue monthly, for the use of the satellites.

Well then as the Directv satellites start to fail, the only option if the sub want to stay with satellite tv - would be to go with DISH receivers and their satellite slots.

It would be over a year and probably clsoer to 2 years before the deal is closed. So I wouldn't expect any changes until then.
