You guys are scaring me !!!

Relax I have had my 811 for about 3 weeks now and haven't had any problems since the initial setup. Maybe I am just lucky, but I can channel surf and flip back and forth between a OTA channel and satellite. It does have it's learning curve. I can't respond to many "trouble type post" for this...

Best place to buy DLP lamp?

I don't need one at the present time, but I know that day will come. I would like to buy a replacement to have on hand. Does anyone have a favorite "on line" place to buy, or is buying it from a local dealer about the same price? Any input from your experience would be appreciated. I have a...

    DirectvHD VS DishHD

Dish vs. Directtv It all depends on what the offers are. We as consumers will decide which is best for us. If Direct offers a much better deal without degraded HD they can expect some customers. Believe me, the posters on this board will check out the reviews before jumping another direction...

    Newbie Question

Ota Nbc Hd As was said before, you need an antenna. The type of antenna depends on how far you are from your local station. A indoor antenna may suffice, but you may need one installed in the attic or outside depending on your particular situation. Antennaweb.org can help with what may work at...

    811 Hookup?

DVI cable From what I have read on these and other message boards, a cheaper cable works just as well. Monster is expensive, so I tried one from http://www.pacificcable.com/ that works just fine. I bought the 2 meter length for 22.00 plus shipping. Recently, I have read of one problem with a...

How can I get HD service, as an existing customer?

Upgrade to 811 I have been a dish customer for over a year and they sent a 811 right out when I called their service line. I had to pay postage of around 25.00 that included a shipping ticket to return one of my basic receivers. Monthly bill goes up 9.99 for the HD service. More if you get...

    811 PQ Problems ... Still!

811 PQ problems I agree with gsldc. Your configuration is the key. DVI cable should blow away s-video unless there is something else that is ammiss. ;) Power Conditioner = 200-300.00 device that filters out unwanted wave forms in your electricity. Motors from a refrigerator or even a exhaust...

? on Locals and 811 reciever

Local Channels Dish will have those on satellite. I would recommend a external antenna to see your local DT and take full advantage of your 811 receiver. Here is a good antenna guide if you don't already have one. http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx

    channel info on OTA digital

OTA Programming Thanks for the update "SimpleSimon". That is good news, and thanks for the welcome aboard. I have had satellite for over a year now, but I am a newbie to this HDTV and sub channel OTA thing. It's great to learn new technology from people like you and others on these forums. Good...

    channel info on OTA digital

OTA information Probably will never happen unless satellite starts providing these channels. You may get the analog equivalent provided by "dish" and see the programming details, otherwise I use TitanTv.com to see what is on digital programming with our locals.

    Local digital in guide

I am also a new user of the 811. I also have that problem, but I think it will show up on the guide if you enter the station on the Manual entry. I use the Guide button to change from Local to Satellite. First, I had the unit scan all the local stations and I selected the ones I wanted. Using...
