I wonder what those were, because they weren't one of the 20+ that showed up last week.

    DishNetwork Uplink Activity Report - 4/16/2008 11:59am - 9 changes - CNN HD ADDED

I really don't watch a lot of the national news networks, but I tuned into CNN-HD this morning and thought the morning show looked really sharp. For some reason it looked better than some of the other HD channels. Is it being down-rezzed like other channels?

My word would be "indifferent." Honestly the channels I watch the most I already get LiL, and the others don't offer an HD channel yet. So I guess I don't have a horse in this race. I'm happy with what I pay for and anything they add is just a bonus.

Interesting about the emails. I usually just check the site so I don't know why the email would say something different. CNN wasn't anything I was waiting for, but I guess it shows there is life somewhere in the company.

Really? I thought that Dish wasn't carrying any of the CW in HD.

The problem is, at least in my area, is the ridiculous price that the cable company wants to charge you. For everything I have now with E*, Comcast would charge me almost $40 more per month to get the same. It's not worth it for a few extra HD channels.

    DishNetwork Uplink Activity Report - 4/9/2008 1:00pm - 178 changes

I tend not to complain either. Honestly I am getting more from Dish now than what I initially signed up for (and for cheaper). I'm not going to flip out over 1 channel, or 1 show, or whatever. If I really wanted to watch USA-HD, then I would go to DirecTV. If I can't switch because of a...

    DishNetwork Uplink Activity Report - 4/9/2008 1:00pm - 178 changes

Did you read the article? Out of 1,002 people, only 41% owned an HDTV (411 people). Out of those people, only 56% were hooked up to an HD source (230 people). So out of 1,002 people, only 230 are actually watching HD programming. How does that support his argument again?

Not when you're dealing with people who do surveys and statistics as their profession.

I'm not looking to defend Dish, but regardless of how many people are buying HDTV's, there is no evidence showing they are actively looking to hook it up to an HD source. In fact most people plug it into their cable and think they are magically watching HDTV. It's sad, really, but it's the...

    DishNetwork Uplink Activity Report - 4/9/2008 1:00pm - 178 changes

I don't know if I agree about that, though. National HD channels are "cable" channels. If you look at the ratings/viewership of those channels and shows, I'm sure you'll find that "local" or "network" channels have a LOT more viewers. So I would claim that the reverse is true, and that...

While it is slightly disappointing that there is no national HD, I do believe that the local HD is more important to getting subscribers. Most people would rather get their local news in HD, as well as being able to watch Lost, ER, CSI, etc. in High Definition, than the 1 or 2 shows they may...
