While it's not the greatest show ever, it is actually a good show for my family. I'm utterly bewildered by the "hatred"... the show isn't consequential enough to be hated, imho. :confused:

It's a "good" list, from my family's POV. We decided against all of these programs this fall (and also had decided against Lone Star), with the exception of The Undercovers, and quite frankly, we won't be too disappointed about that show, either.

Last year. It evidently wasn't profitable enough to try as hard this year, and I suspect that the failure of shows like The Bridge shows that trying even as much as they tried this summer won't be justifiable next summer.

Covert Affairs has been renewed for a second season. I'm really happy to have learned this. This is clearly the best new series of the summer, in our family. It's bewildering how the broadcast networks let this one get-away to cable... it's fantastic.

Yes, good point. The other shows you mentioned are among the favorites in our home. I think it often comes down to what audience the network is aiming to attract. They're clearly aiming for my wife and I, because they keep putting out shows that appeal directly to us. By extension, "good"...

That would make a lot of sense, economics-wise, and there is a long-standing tradition in Hollywood of reusing sets and costumes and such. It is relatively rare, though, to have two series share the same often-used sets while both are in production, but it would be a great idea, in this case...
