  • Server Issues.

We are very aware that there have been system issues the past few days. In troubleshooting the system, it has been determined that the issue is at our provider and is hardware related. The provider was going to move us to a new server, however we are now told by the provider the issue is at the data center in St. Louis. They have offered to move us to a different datacenter on the East Coast or West Coast, however at this time we have declined the move to a different data center as it would affect the speed of connecting to about half our members.

We are waiting for more information from our provider, however we are trying to ride this out to stay in the same data center, so that when the server is fixed all users in the US will get the fastest connection possible.

If after some time the issue is not resolved we will be forced to move to another data center, if this happens there will be down time, as they will need to transfer everything to the new server and we will need to update the DNS and other settings for the new IP address of the new server. If we have to do this, the time it will take to move will be out of our hands.

We are going to try our best to weather through this, so we thank you in advance if you encounter any issues.

    Sorry for the issue!

No Video on my Edision OS Mio+ 4k

Yes indeed. I ordered a SF8008 Supreme with dual DVB-S2X inputs to replace the Mio which stopped outputting HDMI. Looking forward to receiving it, but my order is currently stuck due to "Regional Weather Delays" (too much snow). Might have to wait until the snow melts, lol. ... Looking back, I...

No Video on my Edision OS Mio+ 4k

My Edision OS Mio failed today in the same way as Doorguru's. Same TV and HDMI cable as before when it worked. Same TNAP for the last few years. No TV firmware upgrades. The only thing that changed is that it worked a few days ago and now it doesn't.

Testing the Titanium C140 and C240 5G Filtered BLUE LNBFs

My first signal graph in post #1 is 117W with a 3800-4200 C138. 3947 is not receivable here with either the C138 or C140 -- there is simply too much 5G at my location. However, with the C140 I was able to receive as low as 3972 on 117W. ... If you don't want to buy a TinySA, there is currently...

Testing the Titanium C140 and C240 5G Filtered BLUE LNBFs

They are about the same signal strength. But I can see how you would think the C140 has higher peaks --- the vertical scale of the graphs are different (5 dB vs 10 dB on the left side).

    Paramount +

Now when I watch Paramount+ I cannot skip forward or backward. (And it is not live TV). When I attempt to do it, it says "Rewind and fast forward are currently disabled". I don't remember having this limitation before? I'm using the Paramount+ app on a Sony Bravia TV. Anyone else seeing this too?

GOES 16 GRB downlink vs GVAR

I asked TBS about the availability of the TBS6903, which is not currently available on the www.tbsdtv.com website. I got the following reply from their sales department: "Thank you very much for your inquiry , TBS6903 is stopped production for long time, TBS6903X is the successor, it has all...

Amazon Prime Time Football - Washington Commanders at the Philadelphia Eagles

As for my rear surround speakers, the builder of my house installed them in the ceiling. It sounds like I am sitting at the game with the audience above and behind me. Really enjoying 5.1 sound right now. Wife is away so I have it cranked up quite loud!

Amazon Prime Time Football - Washington Commanders at the Philadelphia Eagles

During the break I heard audio from all 3 front speakers. The play by play is still just the front center speaker on my setup.

Amazon Prime Time Football - Washington Commanders at the Philadelphia Eagles

I subscribe to Amazon Prime and I can verify that the play by play announcers are audible. I am only hearing it from my front center speaker. Maybe your front speaker connection is loose?

    OTA Recorder

I think that when some of the broadcasters first heard about ATSC 3.0 they thought they could transform OTA TV into paid subscription services. But one of the main reasons for a viewer to install an OTA TV antenna is to save money by getting free ATSC 1.0 TV (as it is now). Initially I was...

    Get 403 Forbidden on Safari

Thanks. I did that and it only shows the website that I am currently viewing. Is there a way to see the cookies from all of the sites I have visited without navigating to each one?

Excellent advice. But make sure it has "Lifetime" guide service and ask to see a photo of the System Information screen which proves it.

    Get 403 Forbidden on Safari

I searched for the directory location of the cookies on my Mac and only found the site caches but not the cookies. I wanted to use a hex editor to see what was in the cookies. Maybe some have human readable information in them? I don't know. Just curious.

    Get 403 Forbidden on Safari

Thanks everyone for your help. On my Mac it is in the "Firefox" menu under "Preferences" then "Privacy and Security". ... I am surprised at how much storage that some of the cookies use. They range in size from 7.8 MB to 10 bytes. Satellite Guys is 958 KB.

    Get 403 Forbidden on Safari

I got the "403 Forbidden" error using Firefox. I cleared cookies in order to get it to let me in. The problem is that when I do that I have to re-verify my identity by phone or text with other sites, like banks, etc, and other places that need to be secure. This ^^^ solution would be nice...

Two instances of the same thread

I replied to the thread "How did you first meet your spouse?" and now there are two threads with the same title. One currently has just the OP's first post ( navychop ), and the other thread has both navychop's and my posts. This is the first time I have seen this happen here.
