Hopper 3 Version 392 is Here

My Hopper 3 updated to 392 . I never had 391 so I cannot speak to any updates or bug fixes.

I tried to post this earlier but it does not seem to be here.

I wonder why a Dish rep doesn't let us know what the updates are about. Right here. I assume many who work for Dish follow threads here, know what the main concerns are. (The black screen with recordings!!).

They probably don't know about is until it's already out and about.

Maybe it will fix the inability to transfer recordings on an EHD back to the Hopper...

I'm still on 389. I learned from experience never to force an update. It avoids a lot of problems.

I had a 61 Pontiac Catilana 389. It came with a duece. Went to the junkyard and bought quad manifold with the Carter carb. Rebuilt the carb with a capsule pack kit. Back in the day cars were fun to work on.

Nope, I got 392 yesterday and I still can't transfer recordings from my 2 EHD's to the Hopper 3.

I am still on 389 since March 11th.
Only real issue has been occaisonal black screens requiring a reboot.
I did try a manual update yesterday. The unit rebooted a few times, and I'm still on 389.

The last time I tried a manual update, it was a complete mess.
I have a Hopper 3, NO Hopper plus, and 5 Joey 4s.
If I remember correctly when I tried a manual update about a year ago, I got stuck in a loop, and had to do some kind of reset to get everything working again.

I will probably leave well enough alone until it updates itself.

389 here too, just like in my old GTO

We have not completely rolled out 392 yet. If you don't force update, you will likely have it early next week.

They will never fix getting my recorded programs from certain EHDs. SUPPORTED EHDs.

I HATE the concept of leaving Dish. But I've lost years of programming we were watching. To think I moved them to EHDs for SAFEKEEPING!!!

Well, I guess I won't miss those episodes of Desperate Housewives. Don't tell SWMBO.

Lots of other programming lost I wanted.

Can't quite bring myself to do the Linux copy to a new large HDD. Seems like a lost cause. I've lost the directions anyway.


OTOH, if you ever get on the NCL Prima, go to the Whiskey Bar. Best cocktails onboard. Their Old Fashions are unique, using Woodford Reserve and some honey. Honey! A few of them, and you feel better. Sorry, Bobby.
