Proton-M launcher/Breeze-M upper stage/ US telecommunications satellite Echostar 14 undergo prelaunch processing at Baikonur.
The LV was transported from the integration and test facility, site 92?-50, to the filling station yesterday. Experts of Transport Chemical Machine Building Design Bureau and Yuzhny Space Center commenced propellant loading into the upper stage low pressure tanks this morning. The operation is to be completed tonight.
State Commission is to hold its meeting tonight to approve roll-out of the Proton LV.
The roll-out is due to start at 3.30 am Moscow time on March 17. The LV is to be delivered to launch pad 200. Following the rocket's erection, mobile tower is to be installed for further service operations with the rocket. Operations at the launch pad will take 3 days. The forth (launch) day will begin in the afternoon on March 20.
Launch of Proton-M/Breeze-M/Echostar 14 is scheduled for 09:27 pm Moscow time, on March 20.

The cosmodrome Baikonur continues preparations to launch space rocket 'Proton-M upper stage with "Breeze-M" and the American telecommunications spacecraft "EchoStar-14» (Echostar 14).

Yesterday morning the space rocket was moved to the launch facility Baikonur site 200, after you install it in a vertical position to the rocket-carrier brought a mobile form of service, after which the calculations are carried out of the cosmodrome on schedule the first start of the day.
This morning at the 200-site work began on the scheduled start of the second day. Performing a set of readiness to start the launcher. They're coming operations simulation fueling components of fuel.
Launch space rocket "Proton-M upper stage with" Breeze-M "and the American telecommunications spacecraft" EchoStar-14 "is scheduled for 21 hours 27 minutes Moscow time on March 20, 2010.

Just about all ILS launches at Baikonur are at night. It ensures most people downrange are indoors.

Day launches are more common in the US and EU, as having facilites in Cape Canaveral, Vandenberg, 0N 154W (Sea Launch), and French Guyana (EU launches) ensures downrange is over the ocean.

Anyone know if Echostar has insured this launch? Seems to me that previous disputes led to some launches without insurance.

ILS advertises a 95% success rate with 350 launches now. I guess that means AMC-15 was one of about 17-18 that went bad.

That or because of AMC14 they cant get insured! Lets hope that Echostar 14 doesnt have the same fate as AMC14. Lets hope somone put an extra shamrock on that badboy!
