Yeah, I found out/read about the lawsuit after I posted, (answers the question of why CNN is in HD, but not Fox News)...that'll probably drag on for a while...and I didn't know that Rescue Me wasn't shot in HD...I don't feel bad now for not having FX-HD, that's the only show on that network that i watch (it's a great show BTW, for those that haven't seen it.) Thanks.

Here we go with "filmed in HD" again. Do you mean shot in HD or on film. I doubt if they are not using 35mm film. Could be 16mm which is about the same as HD. Can't imagine they're shooting with SD digital.
That being said, I'd like FX HD next.
Most TV shows are shot on FILM, in most cases 35mm film, which is a MUCH Higher native resolution than HD. The show is then remastered into 30 frame per second VIDEO, either SD or HD.

I have not seen this channel listed on the "Future HD channels for Dish" . If Dish is able to add the channels Charlie mentioned on His last chat it would be a very substantial amount of "New" Hd. To be honest, most of the channels that Charlie mentioned are channels I would never/seldom watch.....regardless of the amount of true HD programming.....but I always welcome new HD. I would rather see Fox business news HD or CNBCHD then Foxnews since they've already added CnnHD.
We already have two HD news channels, give us Smithsonian HD! It would be nice to have another real 24x7 channel.
Thanks for pointing this out. Few to no shows of decent production value are shot in SD video. It is possible for them to only be produced for SD, and never made in HD masters. If the station doesn't show it in HD, then it's a push. (note that a 4:3 aspect ratio doesn't mean SD, although in the case of TV shows it usually does.
Of course, if we had MGM-HD, we'd get a ton of old stuff shot on 35-mm and gloriously re-mastered for HD! That's the channel we need, folks!
