EPG Channel Moves

Effective February 13, 2007, all HD RSNet (Regional Sports Network) channels will be moved into the 5000 channel range.

* This change has been done to free up room in the 300 channel range

* Customers may call in concerned that their HD channel has been taken down, please refer to the table to reference their old channel, as well as their new channel.

* Assure customers that we have not taken down any of their channels, they have just moved.

* The new channel will be grouped with the SD channel or in 5000 channel range. So for example, if Altitude HD was on 360 and 409 before, it will continue to be on channel 409 (same number as the SD channel) and on channel 5409.

maybe they are just trying to seperate HD from non HD channels, getting all the HD into the 4 digit ranges, for less confusion. I like the idea of just putting a 5 in front of the SD# to get teh HD version on these RSN's

I wonder if at some point they may move ALL the HD Nationals into a similar type setup....

As long as they continue to do the ch map down to the 400 number, I could care less if the secondary number is 300 or 5000.

But what sense does doing this mapdown make if the HD channel isn't a simulcast of the SD one (which in almost all cases it isn't).

For example, in my market SNY-HD only broadcasts home Mets games: what happens when I want to watch SNY and there's NO game? Will the box be smart enough to tune in the SD channel or will SD be automatically simulcast on the HD channel?

Aren't they right next to each other in the guide with one having the HD indicator?

Six months from now...

Big Ten Network HD come March
