Actually, I'm sure there's more than one of me. I have my box setup to stretch the signal, but in the software of the box and the TV, the signal is already "stretched" when viewing an HD broadcast. I do have the ability to zoom-in on an HD feed, but there is no way to stretch an HD signal that is broadcasting a 4:3 SD source in 16:9 that already has the sidebars added. The source coming into the TV or the box must be 4:3 in order for it to be stretched.
I understand what you are saying about 4:3 feeds on HD channels but your opinion is not going to be appreciated. I can't understand why anyone would want to watch short fat people on TV...or people who's shoulders double in size when they are near the edge of the screen. If you are going to make the picture look like a freak show why do you care if it's digital anyway. Anyways this is not the venue for this discussion.
