I know the Dish branded WiFi adapter is a standard Netgear USB adapter. Has anyone tried or does anyone know if the Netgear Wireless-AC USB adapter will also work? Specifically with a vip622.

Thanks,

Scott

Not sure,I was under the impression that only the one that dish supplies which is version 2 is the only one that works. It would be nice if we could have more wifi choices.

The reason that you cannot use any other adapter is that the firmware driver for the adapter has to be present in the Dish receiver. Dish has not loaded any other drivers, so you have to use the WNDA 3100 V2. If you find out what chipset that the WNDA 3100 V2 uses, and buy a different adapter that uses the same chipset, there is a chance that it might work. (I would only try that if I already had a different adapter with the same chipset). Otherwise, just use the recommended one.
