Yahoo Widget ????

Please help guys,
Could someone here explain to me what a Sirius Widget ( Yahoo ) is and what does do ? Please be easy on me as I'm not very computer literate.

Yahoo widgets are little applets (small applications) that can do internet stuff.

The Sirius widget allows you to listen to Sirius online without having their big player window open.

the Sirius widget is smaller than the window.
