XO-600/601 AM-PM Q/Signal Changes

Billion Here

The Q signal changes on this Ku satellite for AM to PM. I get around 54 to 58

at sun sets, then by daylight the quality on XO-600/601 drops off to around 47

sometimes it even drops out all the way. Any others BUD owners having any

problems on this Ku digital channels. thanks in advance.

PS: No problems on all other KU digitals.:bounce

I haven't played with that particular sat, but I don't have any trouble with X4. I've read posts by others indicating similar results to yours though. I think there's been some speculation about heat causing it.

Been Meaning to ask this for a while....can I have a Million of your Billions?:D

Sounds like your LNB...lower temps make the signal stronger at night?
How old is the LNB and what degrees Kelven is the rating? I have an old Norstat .6 but it is stable as a rock! My old KU lnb did what you describe as it aged. When it was hot outside...PQ wnt dpwn...night time, it went back up!

regards
Jeff

I was trying to dial in X4 today and I had all kinds of wierdities with X4-600.

I was able to get decent signal (55+) on X4 603 and watch some infomercials. I know that I have room for improvement so I'll be more upset once I call it done.

I have seen Ku sats / channels that worked at nite but dissappear during the day .

Was on an offset dish , not a BUD .

Best I remember , I may have been on the outer edge of the sat's footprint & I figured it was an atmospheric thing instead of a temperature thing ?
