I lost all of my recordings and now it is damn near impossible to set up any recordings on my series III. My DVR now says Record to VCR instead of just record and I can't set up any series recording or anything. I am on the West Side of MI by the way.

I had to actually highlight the show I wanted to record and hit the record button on the remote. It then says VCR recording starting.

Any ideas?

My upstairs DVR works fine, just the one in my basement is all screwy now..

Try unplugging it for 15 minutes and then plug it back in. See if that corrects it. If not, you could do a DVR authorization and factory reset.
