For those of you in the Huntington-Charleston market, WQCW has moved its digital transmitter to Huntington.

Previously, WQCW, channel 30, which is the area's CW affiliate, broadcast from a tower west of Portsmouth, OH, which is the very edge of the market, making its signal impossible to receive OTA in most of the region. It maintained analog repeaters in Huntington and Charleston, which, obviously produced an SD signal. DirecTV, and I think DISH as well, only carries WQCW in SD.

The station has now switched its transmitters, moving the main DT transmitter to WOWK's tower slightly northeast of Huntington, making the signal receivable on an OTA basis in more of the market. If you have a H20 it should just show up, if you are using the TV's tuner, the station recomends doing a "re-scan".

This should make HD versions of CW shows available.
