WPIX - Yankee Games

For those with WPIX as a superstation (or in NY of course) and would like to see some Yankee games you can get 20 Yankee games this year.

The catch is you must already have WPIX to get it as you can not order super stations any more.

Since I started watching baseball in 1967, The Yankees were on WPIX-11 until most of the games went over to MSG then YES.....The Mets were on Ch9 WOR then WWOR until their games started going over to what was then SportsChannel NY....Then SNY.....For a few years those two teams were swapped. With select Yankees games on WWOR and select Mets games on WPIX...So I guess either the Mets are going back over to WWOR or their games are off OTA altogether.

That's one of the few things keeping us with our Bell sub is the superstations in HD

Frank Messer, Bill White and The Scooter....What a team....Messer was the straight guy. White was the cerebral analyst. Rizzuto was the constant cut up....I can still hear his banter.. "Last night I went to Mama Leoni's for Clams Casino"...
Or, "WHADDA YA THINK OF THAT, WHITE?!!!!!" That shrill high pitched voice of his....
Before Messer, Mel Allen was Yankees lead announcer.
Micheal Kay is annoying....Really annoying.
And forget radio....John Sterling.....and Suzyn Waldman.....he's bad. She's horrendous.

The Mets remain on WPIX Ch 11 with a 25 game broadcast schedule.
Of course all other games are on SNY. The National broadcast schedule has not been finalized yet.

The ONLY reason why I keep the superstation package is to get to see the Mets on WPIX....

No. Fans of teams that always win, like the Yankees often stop being fans when the team stops winning.

Fans of teams like the Mets, Cubs, etc are true fans who simply enjoy the game.

And, as far as Yankees/Mets fan contrasts go. Donald Trump, Henry Kissinger, and Rudy Guliani are Yankees fans. Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Stewart, and Chris Rock are Mets fans. I'm just saying'.

Only talking 20 games..wpix has a sister station which was able to carry whitesox and cubs no problem

As a former Queens native and long time Met fine, I must say you are a glutton for punishment. I do miss Ralph Kiner.

Yeah, well, ya gotta stick with your teams. Can't jump ship just because the poop hits the fan...Yeah, it's been a real pisser since 2000....And of course watching Willie the village idiot Randolph blow two 6 plus game leads in September in 2006 and '07....
Mets will have one of the best pitching staffs in the majors this year. Now, if they can just catch the ball and hit the ball.....

Oh....My parents live in the Tampa area. Why the hell are there so many Yankees fans among the transplanted New Yorkers down there?
