apologies, posted in wrong forum.. then tried to delete it.. and then gave up 
actually, the problem is with the JVC 3000 on legacy dish500. The 811 is fine.. eliminates everything except the old pos receiver. It is also still giving me the "please insert smart card" thing once a day..

Yeah - guess you can't delete the post that starts a thread.
Anyway, unless you've plugged the 811 into the same cable that feeds the 3000, it doesn't eliminate "everything", but I think you know the swap concept.

yeah, the 3000 does the same thing downstairs (were the 811 is hooked up) too. Right this moment it is going back and forth between a blank screen (no acquiring signal or anything) and johnny bravo.. which that is the sat that is supposedly working
