Worth getting a 2nd hopper??

Just got the second Hopper installed. A few integration things I would personally change but it reaffirms my thoughts that this is the absolute best dvr system on the market

I think it's great how Hoppers can now share recordings a great feature!

Main thing I would change is the ability to integrate tuners for recording from either Hopper. Otherwise it's pretty much perfect.

For those of you with a 2H/1J setup, is the Joey able to see and playback recorded content from both Hoppers? Also, do both Hoppers need their own internet connectivity or can only 1 of the 2 Hoppers connect to the internet and it will automatically provide connectivity to the other Hopper and the Joey?

My install is coming up in a week (as we're on vacation right now) so any advice on the install or things I should be aware of that are unique to a 2H/1J setup?

Oh, and one more thing. I'm having a sling adapter installed. Does it matter which Hopper I connect it to? Will the Sling see and be able to playback content from both Hoppers?

Thanks everyone for the input.

nothing unique about that setup. The joey is just a client of the hopper it's linked to. There's a dropdown on the recording list to flip between hoppers.

1 ethernet to a single hopper with bridging on will get everything connected. Or use a HIC if ethernet is at a joey.

Yes. You can select which Hopper the Joey looks at and change that at any time.

One and only one Ethernet connection to a Hopper and you'll have that connection available to all units. That's the theory. In reality, it seems your best and most stable bet is to have them install a HIC and that too will provide Internet to all boxes.

The Sling Adapter will only work with the Hopper it is connected to. If you want both Hoppers, get two Sling Adapters.

Mount joey behind TV?

Unusual reception problem, or lack ther of!
