An update from Paul:
Here we go again.
"Well almost everything has been decided, but next weekend (or whenever the Spanish FA deem the final game of the season has to be played) still has several things at stake.
Let's get what's certain out of the way first: Barca is Champions - that was confirmed last Wednesday, while at the other end Malaga and Cadiz have been relegated.
Celta will play in the UEFA Cup next season, accompanied by either Sevilla or Osasuna.
Real Madrid and Valencia will be in the Champions League, although one of them will have to get through a play off to assure their place. The final place is between Sevilla and Osasuna.
Madrid finish their season away to Sevilla, needing a win to assure 2nd place, Valencia end their campaign away to Osasuna. Valencia need a win and for Madrid not to win, while Osasuna also need a win.
Sevilla need to beat Madrid and then Barcelona (in the game that was flooded out) And THAT game is the source of all the chaos... With less than a week to go until FIFA state the season must end, the Spanish FA have been unable to sort things out. The problem is that if they play after next weekend, Barca will have no internationals, Osasuna don't want that because Sevilla will know what they have to do (the last games should all be played at the same time on the same day) and Barca will be severely weakened.
At the moment dates are up in the air, but we will have a game for you... just where and when is what we don't know. Watch this space and bear this in mind... If you sit in the press box at Atletico Madrid, you get a view of the nearby brewery... The Spanish FA would be unable to organize a decent party there!
See you soon PAUL
PS: Au Revoir Zizou...
