I know it isn't so but I wish we could pair two remotes to the Hopper 3. It is a bit of a pain to drag it from room to room!!
You can pair 8 remotes to your Hopper.I know it isn't so but I wish we could pair two remotes to the Hopper 3. It is a bit of a pain to drag it from room to room!!
You can add several remotes to a Hopper 3. Take that second remote into the room that you have your Hopper installed. Turn the Hopper on, with your existing remote go to the diagnostics screen (Press Home 3 times or Press Menu twice, depending on your remote type, or Press System Info under the door of the Hopper) Now, with your second remote press Satellite. You will hear some beeps and now you have a second remote paired. I actually have 3 remotes paired to my Hopper 3.I know it isn't so but I wish we could pair two remotes to the Hopper 3. Really? How do you do this? I can see where I pair the remote but it seems that it is only one.You can pair 8 remotes to your Hopper.

I am trying to pair a VIP-922 remote. 32.0 UHF 2G.
I had a couple of 32.0 remotes paired to one of my HWSs with the old UI one time but not sure if they work with Hopper 3.oops...you happen to be trying to use one of the remotes NOT compatible with the H3. I think the 32 remote was pretty much 922 only. You'll need to get either the 52 or the 40 for UHF for the H3. Both readily available on Amazon, ebay, etc. As mentioned the 20/21 would also work as IR only, but would require line of sight.

Thanks, I have read about others getting it to work but I am having no luck. Maybe they weren't on the Hopper 3?oops...you happen to be trying to use one of the remotes NOT compatible with the H3. Now, I have read that there are different models of the 40. That the 186228 is the one that works with a Hopper. Any thoughts on this?
I didn't realize there was more than one model of the 40. The one I've used with my H3 is a 186228.
The word in a dish forum is that the 186217 will not pair with a hopper but only the joey but the 186228 will work with hopper's and joeys. I don't know for sure but ordered the 186228 to be safe!!Any 40 is going to work with the Hopper 3....
