Wiring from home connection kit?

I'm am considering removing my home connection kit and putting a cat 5 directly into the hr 34. My question is currently the home connection kit goes directly into the swm and then into an 8 way splitter. If I remove the kit, should I just leave the out to ird blank and contine to use the swm? Or will I need to leave that cable plugged into the home connection kit
