Man, did we have some terrific winds in the Midwest today. I know there were 50MPH gusts based on the creaking of my house. But here's the problem: I have a 1000.2 with a 300 wing dish pointed at 61.5. Since 129 is a turd bird, I covered up the LNB for that some time ago and just get what I need for HD off 61.5. It's been rock-solid except for a little rain fade during big downpours.

However, today I noticed some pixelation on all my HD channels and thought I might do better with 129 since there are some trees I'm looking over to the south east and I have a clear shot to the south west. I figured those trees were moving around a lot more than normal and got into the 300's view. I uncovered the LNB, ran check switch and got it OK, but no better there. In fact, signal strengths were all over the place, and this is in line with what I've heard about 129 all along.

But now I can't get 61.5 back at all. I've run check switch multiple times, covered the 129 LNB again, cleared the "switch matrix" and done all of those things in various orders. I guess I''ll just shut everything down overnight and start fresh tomorrow since the wind is supposed to calm down.

Both my dishes are on yard poles, but perhaps one moved a little bit. Oh, do I love the weather in this part of the country!
