I purchased a NIB 722 on eBay recently and I'm still awaiting it's arrival. Can anyone tell me if I can use the onboard card or will Dish have to send me a new card before I can register it.

I had to call up to register my 722 that I just recently bought, but no additional card was required. The guy I got seemed to have problems understanding that I bought one myself however :)

Thanks Garys and tlhogan for the replies. I thought if I was going to need one, I would get one coming my way and speed up the process. Again, thx for the replies:).

I don't think they are going to send you a card unless you can tell them the numbers associated with the 722. The cards are mated to a specific receiver. You'll have to wait anyway.

workarounds for a re-sold 722

Why won't DishNet release a 722 that a user sold me to help pay off her outstanding account balance? The 722 was previously owned (not leased) by her.

Yes, she screwed up and ran up programming & service charges over several receivers I think, and she must pay off that balance eventually.

But if a user (in good standing...me) buys that used 722, and shows some proof of sale from the previous owner/user, then shouldn't they be allowed to transfer that 722 onto their account and begin paying for all the various things that DishNet expects? IT SEEMS LIKE A WIN-WIN FOR DISHNET!

Is there an internal / technical workaround or fix for the 722 that will make it able to be transferred to another account in good standing?
New internal smart card / smartcard?
Hack, fix, mod, whatever?

I don't want to blacklist, ruin, or pirate this 722, if possible. Just simply use it the way DishNet wanted it to be used.

Any suggestions, sites, or specialists recommendations would be very appreciated. Feel free to email me direct at your discretion.

Thanks!
