Hy i recently switched 2 dish network and i have the superdish 121.. and i was a lil concerned that u knw about loosing the signal during the rain or when its windy. is it true because i have heard frm some ppl that they lost sognal in the normal rain nothing very hard. wheras the installer said that i will loose signal only during EXTREME rain. my peak signal strength was 94. and also if the dish goes out of allignment then what do i do?? plzz help :)

My peak signal is around the same as yours. I did not lose a signal in the rain, it was even raining fairly strong. In fact the signal didn't decrease then either.I only lost it when in the same weather that heavy T-storm went through for a couple of minutes.

Because the even transponders are in the higher frequencies 1650-2150 Mhz, the odds are in the lower frequencies 950-1450 Mhz. The higher the frequency, the higher the loss in your cable runs.

Then why did the Installer use RG59 cables from the dpp seperator to connect to the two tuners of my 625, if there's worries about signal degradation. Isn't it suppose to be RG6 all the way from the dish?
