Had a visit from the local deer club again today, just to share an 'awwwww' pic, here's one from my backyard. There was 7 total, 2 adults and a bunch of little ones looking for free food.

Very Cool indeed .....
Eventhough I live a stones throw from the forest preserve the chance of me taking a picture of deer in my yard would be very hard to do , Racoons , Possums , Coyote , Skunk ........ that's possible for me.

Very cool , indeed. When we lived in Okemos, I took a camera video of my white cat chasing off a small deer herd, from the backyard, but here in Holland, though I see their tracks in the yard, I have yet to spot one. They sneak around when I'm not lookin', I guess.
:)

I used to have a friend who had a big 'ol tomcat, he would bring home birds, mice squirrels. We would joke about him dragging a10 pointer through the doggie door some day:) The image of this tom dropping a buck just floors me everytime I think about it.

Since my dog passed away last year the deer aren't afraid to come up close now. They wandered around to the other end of the yard where the dishes are, and did ok for awhile. Funny watching them stop eating, look up at the dish moving with ears perked up, then go back to eating when the motor shut off lol. Until I went from G18 up to AMC6, that scared them further back.. still they stayed around for about 2hours foraging for green stuff. Not too much of that in Dec.

Very cool, indeed.

Crossbow season will go on another couple of months in OHIO. I will try to go out for a buck if I can. Starting a new hobby :D

Yes, in my camouflaged tent, using a camouflaged dish and a whisper sound motor. Not to forget, using a solar panel and battery backup system to power all of that :D

Not unusual for us to have several at the back of the yard (property backs up to state forest) but they are developing a rescued wildlife reserve on the part of the forest that backs up to the property so we haven't seen them in the yard lately... we have seen them across the floodplain tho.
In the spring we normally have a couple dozen blue racers in the back yard. Funny to be out mowing and seeing all the snakeheads popped out of the ground watching the tractor go around the yard... (the wife HATES snakes... :) )

Very cute pics! I'm a suburbanite, so the only times I see deer are when we are on the interstate at night in the rural areas between New Orleans and Baton Rouge :)
