Denver, Colorado - WildBlue Communications, Inc. helped a family in Rose Hill, Kansas attain the home of their dreams in October by providing a free WildBlue system and high speed Internet access via satellite for their wireless network. The Nutsch family’s story will be aired during the December 11th edition of Extreme Makeover Home Edition at 8p.m ET on ABC. WildBlue provides high-speed Internet access via satellite to homes and small businesses in communities not currently served, or underserved, by other high speed providers.
Kevin and Cathy Nutsch, along with their five daughters, were left homeless in August after a gas explosion destroyed their home. Extreme Makover Home Edition came to the rescue and built them a beautiful new 3,800 square foot home featuring a wireless network equipped with the WildBlue service. Butler Rural Electric Coop in El Dorado, Kansas worked with the Extreme Makeover staff to install WildBlue’s equipment in the new home during the week-long makeover. WildBlue also will be featured on the Extreme Makeover website at www.abc.go.com/primetime/xtremehome.
"When Butler REC was asked to help the Nutsch’s dream of a new home come true, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that we had to help make this happen," said Dustin Pulliam, Butler REC’s VP of Member Relations. "That one week it takes to turn a family’s dreams into reality takes cooperation, commitment, generosity and caring, all of which are reflective qualities of Butler REC and WildBlue. WildBlue was a perfect solution for the Extreme Makeover folks, as many of the homes they build are located in rural areas not served or underserved by cable or DSL."
An always-on broadband Internet connection, WildBlue’s service offers access speeds that are comparable to DSL and cable modem services. WildBlue's two-way wireless service provides high-speed data in both directions, upstream and downstream. Customers do not need an additional phone or cable line in order to receive broadband Internet access. WildBlue’s fast, reliable Internet service is available simply by calling 1-866-WildBlue (1-866-945-3258) or by visiting www.wildblue.com.
