I am wondering why upgrade to the VIP622 if you own your equipment. Why not just lease the VIP622 outright?

I thought you could only upgrade a leased unit. If you already own or lease a 941 or 942 DVR then the upgrade is a definate plus. Especially waiting until April 1st and doing it for $99 with a $200 rebate.

However, if you own an 811 or currently are not a HD subcriber then why upgrade at all? I believe you can just lease a VIP622 for the new HD channels outright.

You will still pay the $299 and you will still get the professional install and you do not have to pull the trigger on the 'upgrade' feature. Then you can latter 'upgrade' a differant receiver to a VIP211 and that will count as 1 MPEG4 upgrade.

Hey if I am wrong with this will someone speak up?:)
