I have been wondering why History Channel HD distorts some of its programs which were originally filmed in letterbox format, why in the world would they distort Letterbox programming? :nono2: it looks horrible and unwatchable like that when it could look so much better, Discovery HD and Science Channel HD broadcast similar programming on its correct aspect ratio, sure it never looks like real HD but it looks awesome like that!

Maybe it's time to start mass mailing campaigns to the networks which do this? what are your opinions? :)

I've been posting complaints about History HD in the Dish Network forum ever since the channel launched. Why would anyone stretch a 16:9 formatted picture for a feed that they know will be displayed on an HD channel? Best thing to do is to email The History Channel thru their website (I believe there is a "contact us" section that takes you to A&E networks but don't recall how I found it originally). The more voices, the better - we don't want programmers to think that we feel this is acceptable.
