Hey guys, today I tuned my dish onto AMC-3 (87.0W) and don't have sound on the PBS Freq 12180 and the "Create" channel, anyone know why there's no sound or how I can manually edit the audio PID on my CW600Spremium? The user manual only tells you how to turn pages.

I do have sound on Montana PBS, TIPS

I thought it was just me. I have not had any sound and bad "pixel-ation" on all the 12179 tp. My signal is 80 and strength is 75

Was getting good pictures and sound until last week Any Suggestions?

CW600SPremium
SG2100
Invacom QPH301 & 30"Dish

Does your rec pass the AC-3 sound? Not familiar with that one, if it has a "coaxial audio" or SPDIF connector (square-kinda like a small USB connector) in the rear>it should. You have to have a Dolby--capable audio decoder, or home theater system receiver that will decode Dolby Digital output.
PS>search terms AC-3 Decoder you should get tons of posts on it

I've got good sound audio and video on PBS Create using HDMI cable and audio on optical cable to a/v receiver. I have what appears to be a very, very flakey CS8000 fta receiver....different intermittent and weird problems every day...will post for help later.

Yes it has that and I have a Sony home theater with Dolby Digital Audio, I'll look into it, thanks for your detailed help :) :hatsoff:

Sat 99.0W channel trouble

Can anyone tell me what's going on with "American Life Network"? I can't lock onto it, @ Lyngsat (11800 H 19510).

Is it a FTA or not? the signal pulses oddly

The CS8000 will output the audio without an external receiver (I'm using the S-video & audio cables on mine)

I have a a optical (spdif) cable out of the CW into a Motorola 501 AV center to get the AC-3, also regular L and R cables to get the other audio. For some reason I cannot get all sound out of the spdif connection only AC-3, which is kind of annoying because I have to switch audio selections on the AV center when I get to certain channels.

No solution yet!

I've been trying to get the AC-3 audio on PBS stations/87W but haven't any success yet. :( I'm using a CW600Spremium with optical and coaxial outputs and haven't a clue as to what frequencies this receiver supports, it doesn't decode AC-3. Captive Works won't answer my e-mails or phone calls, support is non-existant!

My Sony Home entertainment receiver supports 96 KHz, 48 KHz, 44.1 KHz and 32 KHz in both optical or coaxial....the digital audio signal of the digital PBS stations on 87W show that they are 22.05 KHz...audio bitrate: Free format MPEG Layer I....what is the solution for a match?

I've read the posts about the Sound Blaster Extigy but I'm not sure if this will be the cheapest/easiest solution.

Is your rec finding the PIDS on those W3 channels? You may have tried already but you can go to lyngsat and copy the audio / video pids for some of those channels, enter them manually. If you can edit the PIDs manually, then create a couple of user-channels and enter the freq, sr, pids etc. Some rec wont find the pids on those ac-3. (Problem may be in the firmware too, if that brand passes the ac-3 or not)

I've checked and it appears that this Captive Works receiver does not pass AC-3.

I've just purchased a Fortec Star Lifetime Classic NA from eBAY and it's the lowest price I can find any where. The Fortec does pass AC-3, they specify it clearly........that's a big plus for me.

Thanks for your help my friend :D

Had my experience with that, just because the specs claim something-it isnt necessarily true. Or it might be a feature they intend to provide with a later firmware update. I dont know your brand/model or how new it is--its possible they may fix it later. But hell, two boxes is always better lol.
