Why no DD 5.1 on movie channels?

Showtime East/West used to have movies that were DD 5.1, but have noticed in the last week or so, they are only in stereo? What caused the change?

Good question. Also a lot of 4.3 video on their HD channel that doesn't look like HD to me.
