Why no 1080i for PS3 Tiger08

I don't understand why the PS3 version of Tigerwoods 08 doesn't offer 1080i as an output option. (720 only). The XBOX 360 offers 1080i. Anyway my TV does not support 720 so the game would downscale to 480p. I was hoping this year they would offer the 1080i option. OH well.

if your tv is 1080I native it will support 720p also 720p is used more for fast action. you really cant tell the difference in 720p & 1080i

Not always true. I have an older Sony that will only do 1080i. Once I purchased it, I found the fine print that says it downscales 720p to 480p.

I'm surprised EA would support 1080i on one system but not the other. Do they do this on any of their other games?

The 360 version supports 1080i output. I have the older Sony (2003) as well. It does not support 720p. I screwed up when buying the PS3 as it will not upscale PS3 games. I guess it is time for a new TV.
