I took DISH NETWORK with Top 100 + Local + 3 International Packages.

Installer Guy #1 came and said he can not install because he needs to drill the apartment wall. Apartment did not like that. He left.
To me it seemeed ridiculous. After multiple calls to Clearchoice satellite, they send a supervisor and he said, it is possible using flat wire.
To my surprise, Installer Guy #1 showed up and was pissed off because he said before it was NOT possible. He was very upset the whole time and said he cannot guarantee that I can watch any channel at all. He put the pole like 6 inches deep ( which actually blew off by wind after a couple of months ). He put a DP34 switch. He programmed and there was no local channel. He said I was lucky to get the rest. He left, charged me for the flat-wires. I had free time warner cable from my apartment, he blocked and put that cable inside the wall and said DISH is digital. I should never hook this into the DVR or else I loose warranty.

I am paying for the locals but cant see. I could not see LOCAL NEWS for one year. No sitcoms, show. Please help !!!

Called the customer service, those bozo's started to teach me how to use a remote. I complied, talked on the phone for 1.5 hrs. Reset, Setup, Check switch, reset. went on and on. Gave up. After a month, again called, same result. I then send email explaining.

A friend of mine said, the solution is DP44 switch or reduce international pay channel to free up some satellite spot. I called the DISH, they dont want to talk about DP switches. CSR forwarded to Technical, and they started the reset, setup, reset drill. Wasted another 2 hrs.
I gave up.

Can anyone with experience tell me, what is going on ?
Please please !!!!

lets see, dp34 switch, cust does not want to lose his international channels, i would say he has a 500+ out there. im guessing he only has either evens or odds coming in, rolly just one sat line to only sat input 1 or into sat input 2. with a dpp switch, which was mentioned would be needed, he could use a dpp sep and get it all. thats my guess anyways

Given the trouble you have had, I would recommend calling dish, tell them your locals do not work, have never worked, and you want someone to come out and fix it. Be firm but polite, and if they try to trouble shoot with you, tell them that is not acceptable, you expect someone to come out and fix the problem. If they do not, you will be switching back to Cable. Short and simple, hopefully they will send a tech who actually cares about his/her job.
