How do I edit the posts? It has been a while since I have done so and it seems like something has changed since then on how to do so.
Let me know how that works for ya!
I read this whole thread and have a headache now.
My question is about the phone line. I don't use a phone line on my 721, am I going to be required to do so on my 522 that's on its way?
I have 1 phone line in my house, it's in my office and I have a cordless phone system. I removed all my old lines from the phone box outside and ran 1 band new line because of static problems I was having. I do not want to have to run a phone line to this TV because it's on an inside wall and I'm too fat to get in the attic to make it look nice, and the wife isn't going to have an ugly phone line running across the floor from the outside wall.
Thanks.
People that are happy with their 721 and have never had any problems with it- consider yourselves lucky. In fact, the 721 has been trouble-prone. HDD and power supply failures. Maybe you should look on this as an opportunity to get a newer, more reliable model before your 721 dies and is worthless. Dish has been sending out 522s, WITH DVR FEE, to replace dead 721s.
I must be very lucky. I have three 721s and no problems with them.
I am going to catch some flak from my wife as I recently bought a new stereo receiver. It is silver to match the 721.
Sounds like a good reason to upgrade to a 622 to me

The color thing is hopeless.
I have about half silver things and half black things.
The only way you get coordination is to buy everything the same year, and then buy all new stuff whenever you change one thing.
How did you get a 508? The csr I spoke with told me that all I could get was a 522. She also told me that these were being replaced because everything was going to MPEG4 and that I needed the newer receiver. She had no answer for me when I told her that the 522 was not a MPEG4 receiver and was only a MPEG2 unit.
Nope. Single tuner, full stop.Maybe I'm missing something and the 508 can record two channels off of one input?
