Why do some channels come in and other don't?

I have a Dish 500 system and a few weeks ago some channels would not come in. It goes to the "acquiring signal" and then an error message 002. My TV upstairs may get a certain channel but the TV downstairs will not come in. A friend said it is probably the LNB. I also noticed that some times the picture will be visually fragmented. Does anyone have any suggestions? Dallas Reese

It could be a bit off the sat and cause this as well.
