I have been transferring shows from one EHD to another. When on the internal drive it seems you can only select from some number of tiles. Possibly based on the number of tiles and not shows. If alphabetized you may not get to "The" and later, in fact it could be any breakpoint and I suppose it is the same for DVR date order.
So this is a Dish-imposed limit on the number of tiles/icons. If you remove some then you get access to some later ones. Exact numbers were not checked. If you have a large number not being moved on the Internal you may not be able to get to those being moved through it except by changing the sort ordering.
Why did I not see this when I was writing from external to internal? I did write from 2 disks, so they could have each added their limit and together it is too much. I was doing A->Internal->B and B->Internal->C. The later path was needed to clear enough space for the former, each part of their .75TB. Simultaneous transfers worked and transfers with a 3 disk did also.
It does slow down the transfers because of all the extra tracking and repetition you must do.
Moral of story, base content division on unchanging value like name and not on rating, which does change over time.
