Why are my episodes of Yellowstone disappearing?

I was recording all the episodes of Yellowstone and yesterday when I went to start watching them. Season 1 and the 1st episode of Season 2 were deleted. How long is Paramount allowing us to keep them, before they delete? I am recording off the free preview.

Do you have your receiver set to save all episodes of Yellowstone? I think the default is set to save 20 episodes. I have recorded all episodes of Yellowstone to date, and my HWS has saved them all (I think I have 31 episodes saved so far). None have disappeared. I recorded them all from the Paramount Network channel.

Shoot, you were correct. I had my timer set to 20. I just changed my default to All Events. Maybe Paramount will rerun season one before our 1 month free preview is over. I usually watch recordings within a few days of recording it. They just loaded us with so many of Yellowstone that I did not pay attention to that setting. Thanks for the heads up.

Luckily, they are letting us 30 second skip commercials. I noticed that out of the 69 minutes of recordings that 26 minutes were commercials. For a premium channel, they sure abuse you with commercials. They networks use 20 minutes out of 60 minutes for commercials.

I had that happen once. So in the Timer Defaults menu I changed the Keep setting to All. Won't happen to me again.

This is one of the main reasons that I transfer series from the Hopper to an EHD if I want to keep them permanently. Saves space and icon space on the DVR and once transferred they are not subject to deletion if your subscriptions change.
Another factoid I knew not of. Thanks!

Six months ago, I switched to the Hopper3 from the Hopper WS and forgot to check the defaults. I used the wizard on the remote to transfer my Passes, but somewhere in the process the defaults did not transfer, if they were supposed to. At least its fixed now, until something else causes some other setting to change. You know how electronics work or do not work.

Hmmm. Reading this from bookworm370 worried me. When I had top 250, I recorded many nature and animals shows from Nat. Geographic and Smithsonian (?). I never delete those. After I switched to Welcome pk, I no longer get those channels. Those recordings are still viewable. (I just checked.) Recordings from paid movie channels (Showtime, Cinemax, etc.) as free previews play, too.
I use Hopper3.

You are right. I have never had a show get deleted because I no longer subscribed to a certain channel. In fact, I still have shows that were recorded from free previews that were on premium channels.

I noticed the same. Disappointing. By the way, Yellowstone is not available with Paramount plus streaming. Only paid Peacock has them. Peacock is offering one week free trial in case people are interested.

No such thing as a recording of a TV channel (Non PPV) being subject to deletion depending on your subscription. Not taking up space, no question I have an Ext Drive on our Receivers.

I had my episodes to be saved set at 20. I changed my default setting to all, so I will not miss other programs that I get that are over 20. CHECK YOUR TIMER SETTINGS!

For everyone that is looking for missing episodes of Yellowstone: In the past, the Paramount Network channel has had Yellowstone marathons where they show all episodes of Yellowstone in order. I know they have done this at least twice because that is how I recorded the series.

They will probably have another marathon. Keep your eyes open.

Good Grief! And back in Star Trek: Voyager first run days it was 20 minutes commercials and 40 minuets of content, and back then I thought that was AWFUL! Sad to see things getting worse.

A rerun of Season 1 is upcoming for those of us who missed it or it got deleted. Be sure to change your saved episodes from 20 to All. Season 1 on 11/25 and Season 2 on 11/26.
