Well acording to Tech Support Dish was doing Maintenace on Local Uplinks to the above cities and here in Vermont all we have is a black screen....Arrggghhh

Hi Andy,

I'm up in Vermont too. I had my 721 on from about 5:55 to 6:25 & it worked normally. I had it on just one music channel though, so there could have been other channels down and would not have known it.

Bradford Vermont. Went to turn on my 811 and nothing. My 508 was fine but the 811 acted like it was unplugged (it wasn't). Tried holding power switch, etc but could do nothing to get it to come on. Then, just before I was ready to make a call, I tried pressing the power button one more time and it came on. Strange.

Are they actually able to control the power-on switch from the satellitte ?
