They must be having problems, I saw a Windows dialog box for a second....and they were back for a second....and now Helen Hayes and Gary Cooper are coming on.
LOL!! Well of course! I had heard that the Little Rascals / Our Gang had been banned for some sort of racial overtones, IE, Buckwheat.
I never saw anything racist about it, I always thought he was adorable and funny, just like all the rest of the gang.
I haven't seen these little shows in a very long time. I guess since I was little, as best as I can recall.
I hope they make these little shows a regular part of their line up, I really love them so much.
The age of innocence. : A thing of the distant past..
Sigh......
I heard that same rumor too something about Bill Cosby bought the rights to The Little Rascals because it was racist and no one could air the episodes until they where 100 years old and became public domain.
Rumors.......
from Wikipedia:The widely-circulated rumor that entertainer [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Cosby"]Bill Cosby - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:Bill_Cosby_(2010).jpg" class="image"><img alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f4/Bill_Cosby_%282010%29.jpg/220px-Bill_Cosby_%282010%29.jpg"@@AMEPARAM@@commons/thumb/f/f4/Bill_Cosby_%282010%29.jpg/220px-Bill_Cosby_%282010%29.jpg[/ame] bought up the rights to Our Gang to keep the racial stereotypes off of television is false. Cosby has never owned any rights to the series at any time.
Lot of info on Our Gang comedies avail at imdb.com .
They're on White Springs , sometimes. They just played that short again about 20min ago. If you'll check whitesprings schedule and see what movie started at 9am central today, it just might follow that same movie later when it repeats. I think that one was "Our Gang Follies of
1938".
I had the opportunity to meet Joe Cobb (the original chubby kid from Our Gang) in about 2000. He was hospitalized with Alzheimer's and would often talk about filming as if it had just barely happened. It was very interesting to hear is take on the other actors and the filming process.
