Looking for wireless phone connection for new directv installation. Which ones work best? My research shows the true wireless RTX DUALjack RTX3241S works well but no longer manufactured. Thanks in advance!!

Why? Phone lines aren't needed with the DirecTV DVRs. Unless, you need Caller ID or PPV (which can be ordered via the DirecTV website).

and even IF you just want the phone line; why not save a few buck and run an actual wire; its real easy to do and hide.

Thanks CFB.

Charper1 and jdspencer: Diretv says a phone line is needed for local sports stations. And I actually know how to run a phone line.....just asking a different question which CFB answered and I appreciate it.

If you have a DVR you might want to look at possibly doing a wireless network connection instead of a phone line. Both of them are just as good as the other for the phone line sudo requirement. If you have the network connection you open up other features such as VOD. If you already have high speed internet at home and are going to spend the money go with the network connection instead.

Jag72....very good point. If the internet connection provides eveything the phone line does (and as Stuart 628 said I may not need the phone regardless of what diretv says)....anyway......I already have wireless internet so just need to see how to make wireless internet to receiver. Thanks for the help people!

The wireless phone jack also gives you caller ID.

When my switch over to VOIP is complete, I'll be using a wireless jack I've had laying around for a while to extend caller ID from the voip box to the receiver upstairs for caller ID.
