Which way does dish point

Hi all,

I'm building a new house and want to get DirecTV when it is done. I have to get approval for my dish location by submitting a drawing showing the location of the dish. I used the DirecTV dish pointer and the azimuth came back as 206.6. So that is telling me the degrees from north so it will need to point south-southwest. Am I correct?

Yes. Next you need to know if there is line-of-sight access too. (That is no tall trees, etc that block the ability to see the satellite.)

Just being nosy, but why do you need approval for the dish location? Are you in an HOA?

Even then it will not matter. I have built 2 in HOAs (which I am GLAD to be in) and this is not a legal requirement by a HOA
