Which Sat's do I need to hit? Installer here

The installer showed up and is telling me that he needs to hit 110, 119, 61.5 and 129.

That does not sound right to me.

Am I wrong?

I'm SoCal, AT180 and HD too. I'm looking at 110, 119, 148 and 61.5. I'm looking at 61.5 for Voom and WCBS-DT from NY. The only thing I've got on 148 I'm looking at is KCBS-DT. I don't subscribe to LA locals but if you plan to subscribe to HD locals you'll probably need 129. I'm also assuming that you are upgrading to one of the new MPEG 4 receivers (622?).

If your hitting 129 (requires Dish1000 if you want that along with 110 and 119 all on one dish) then why would 61.5 be needed?

I guess i would ask why not.
If he has 2 dishes before and can live with 2 dishes afterwards, he gets the flexibility of 4 sat locations. Plus if 129 gives him poor reception then he has 61.5 as backup or he can point that dish at 129.

The installer left the 61.5 up but did not connect it to the switch.

Claimed there was a problem getting 110 with it plugged in.

Of course, english was a second language also. (possibly third)

You need 61.5 to get WCBS-HD NY. Everything else HD is mirrored on 129. If I'm not mistaken.

The SkyAngel package is the other exception, on 61.5 only.
