You're where ? :)

Let's see. You are where?
Did a search on Google with: corner brook newfoundland longitude
and got my favorite Time and Date web site. :)
It says you are at:
Latitude: 48° 58' North
Longitude: 57° 58' West

Poking that into the old SatFinder program (feel free to use the wonderful new ones at either Sadoun or SatAV sites)
Code:
           Latitude 48° 58.000'N Longitude 57° 58.000'W

Sat Name Sat Lng Az(t) Az(m) El Skew
-----------------------------------------------------------------
                       Galaxy 10R 123.0W 250.6 273.2 7.5 38.3
Looks like a long shot to the west, with an elevation of only 7.5°
Are you up for that?
Got any trees or hills out that way?

low elevation success

Here's a quote from another thread, so you might stand a chance:
Success! I've locked 43W from my back yard (8.7° elevation!).
It looks like he's using a 75E primestar for that.

Oh, and Ice must've been in a hurry, that's...
" 273 azimuth is pretty much straight WEST "
...for us in north America.

If it's any encouragement... attached is what that 43W / low elevation's LOS looks like for me. 43W is pretty much where the roofs of the 2nd and 3rd house back intersect.

The yards are 62' wide. Luckily my immediate neighbor is well clear of my LOS - that was a free 62'. I then figured half of that to the next house was 93' or so. Worst case scenario with my dish on the property line I'm at 13' 9". Go half way back in my yard, call it 124' and I'm just shy of 19'. If I'm back to the furthest 3rd of my yard (about where my motorized dish is) I'm bettering 20'.

Add to that my 5' or so pole on the non-pen mount and the beam is a solid 25' in the air, easily over my obstacle (2nd house back).

easier than I thought

Thanks for the pix , Shawn
That's quite encouraging.
Makes me want to run right out and do an 8..9..10 degree shoot!

thanks for the reply , i tried it all im getting is signal quality of about 33-35%.and signal level of about5-9%. must be something blocking the signal. i have it mounted on my patio,no problem getting121 whitch should make it easy for to get 10r whitch is what i want. thinking about mounting it on the roof of my house.see what happens . im hearing 10r is going to be replaced with a new sattelite, any date when this will happen? i hope it gives a better signal.
with all these ftas flying of the shelfs you think they would find a whey of cashing in .who knows.

i tried again all im getting is quality 35%-52% and signal of 5%,the quality bounces sometimes from 0%-52%,cant seem to understand that,i have no problem getting amc4 it has 1 fox channel the rest are religous channels.
i would surely love and try and get g10r!?i was wondering if there was anyone living here(nfld) would have any insight on if they got g10r that could give me a heads up please.
