What's the difference between getting a HD Receiver from Best buy and getting one through Directv? Would the only difference be that I would have to call DIRECTV to activate, if I buy the HD Receiver through Best Buy? Please let me know.

You have to call Directv either way to activate.

Albert,

The only difference between BB, CC, and D* is the deal you can get. Since with the rebates today, free is free, but sometimes you can programming deals from D*. Then again, sometimes you can get those at time of activation, even if you buy from someone else.

The other difference might be some of the specials you can get thru ValueElectronics by being a member of these forums.
