I'm contemplating leaving for D. One thing I really like about D is there VOD. Whats the chance Charlie will revamp E's VOD? Because right now it looks like its about 10 years behind D's!

10 years, really? I don't believe Dish is that far behind, several years but certainly not 10. I do not believe that Dish will catch up with Direct as far as VOD is concerned. Not in the fore seeable future anyway.

If no fix does that not make it like 20 years or 30 years?;)

Can someone please explain what is wrong with Dish's VOD? You tune to the channel and you start watching the movie. what more can you possibly expect it to do? Pop the popcorn? let the dog out? I mean really, what else is there?

I'm assuming they aren't just talking about the movies you order. When I had cable, I could watch loads of free content.

For example, if I had Showtime and I wanted to watch an episode of Californication, I could do that without paying anything. The menu system was much more intuitive too (Each channel's VOD content was under a separate menu). And the content for each channel was often categorized such as Horror / Comedy / etc.

Dish really has nothing like this as far as I've seen...can't comment on D*

I'll bet you're confusing VOD with PPV. VOD doesn't appear on a channel and must be downloaded.

DISH Network's interface to VOD on the ViP622 and ViP722 is pretty clunky.

722 VOD was a waste....... little free content, poor PQ, and i am not fussy.

this with FIOS down at 15 meg.......

I am looking forward to comcasts VOD.....

i have 22 VOD channels. they are listed at channel 1. and are all HD. not PPV. I can tune to them at any time and start watching from the beginning.

If you are talking about Dish On Demand that is a whole different ball game. They are working on it. It is getting a new interface as I type.

Yes this is what I was referring too. If they are updating as we speak I may have to think twice about jumping ship!!!:)

I think the OP was referring to the DishONLINE VOD content that requires a broadband connection to download the content. At the last Team Summit, Scott reported that Dish said they are going to "re-vamp" the DishONLINE service and make it easier to use--and find content--and that Dish sees the DishONLINE service as important to their future.

Still, On Demand VOD content is still the strongest thing cable, Uverse, and FiOS have to offer compared to satellite.
